yeah pretty awful play on both sides - Paraguay for being obsessed with cannoning balls towards the goal from 25m out (probably thinking that the new ball will make it go in) and England for being unable to kill a team but happy to hang on with only a goal in the bag. I'm not sure Argentina, Brazil or even Cote D'Ivoire are going to be quaking in their boots at the sight of that performance. Unless Sven is playing a long game of boring all the opposition into a false sense of security when faced with England...

As an aside, intersting how well T&T played against Sweden, securing their first world cup point in their first match. Should be interesting to see how England handle those two teams in the next few games...

amen to that..... terry is a good leader too but gerrard is muh more credible...... the infamous night (am a Milan fan) in istanbul truning around a certain defeat..... and lets not 4get the FA Cup final...... a great leader always rises 2 da challenge when every1 else is feeling down n out.... becks is jst a pretty boy, more concerned wid if posh aproves of his latest hair-do!!!

england performance was ummmmm......... quite sketchy...... i mean, they got da result but.....i think at dis stage wot matters is u get 3points widout injuring any of ur key players n they achieved just that...... yea, it wasnt a pleasent display of "formidable talent" but u dont wana peak too soon n become complecent...... traditionally, italians always start slow n they get there 1 way or another....... but no, if u r english u have to hammer every1 by 10-0 otherwise its a disapointent:P

having said that argentines looked very good...... both going forward and defensively...... and given that they were playing an xcelent ivorian side.... 2-1 was a good result.... ByTheWay, ivory coast keeper was a complete pile of shite.... he must b a twin brother of that saudi keeper (al-deayea.... da disgrace of 2002), mr.butter finger who cant catch a simple shot n keep flapping left, right n centre!!!!!

anyway, netherlands-serbia&montenegro would be a good match..... and so will be portugal-angola..... lets c wot dutch n portugese r made up of.... 2-1 to dutch and 3-1 to portugese

I told you to watch out for the Ivory Coast!! They were damn unlucky not to beat the argies; if they'd had better finishing...

Hey guys,

What happened to Sweden? Never thought Dwight and his crew would be so hard to score against. Maybe this score will make the Eng-Swe game even more interesting.
Holland might have only got 1 passed Serbia-Monte but they looked very good, I can see them go a very long way. I could say the same about Portugal 'cause they looked pretty sharp but they usually do disappoint against the better teams. As for Mexico, they played well but some guy on the BBC said he saw them go to the 1/4 finals at least, hmmmm not too sure about that one.
The Italians in action today, as well as the Czecks any prediction?

[quote=the_last_1_left_again]just saw the aussie-japan game.... good match..... but am realy-realy-realllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy disapontd wid da japs...... they had more then enough possesion n play to kill the game but jst couldnt thread a good final pass through the aussie defence..... brazil n croatia should easily cruise through this group even though croats r going through a transitional period after doing xtrmly well in 98. croatia-brazil match should b interesting even though we all know whose gona come out on top there

as for rest of 2days games......

czech-USA.... it would be nice if they both cancelled each other out n let italy sit comfortably on the top of the group.... but czech have enough fire-power and quality to out-class the over-rated american side..... 2-0 to czech

italia-ghana...... dis is really worrying me, so far we havnt had a real big upset of the tournament and all the big guns have com out comfortabl winners..... and give that italians r traditionally slow starters combined with the whole juve-match-fixing-scandal..... am sensing things are abt to change........ i really hop am wrong ...... it would kill me if we lost today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1-0 to italia but..... am having a real bad feeling abt dis

Yesterday was the best day of the tournament so far, 3 cracking games!

Australia v Japan - 3 goals in last ten minutes by the Socceroos, says it all.
Czech Republic v USA - shows that the FIFA rankings are a pile of s*** (USA being ranked 5th) as they were beaten in every department by the Czechs, plus Rosicky was simply awesome.
Italy v Ghana - Again good goals, and wasn't as boring as I usually get while watching the Italians.

Looking forward to today though... South Korea v Togo (South Koreans should be good to watch), France v Switzerland and Brazil v Croatia... and after that I'll be heading down to Alton Towers.

yep, 3 cracking games....
realy relieved to see italians taking 3points and perhaps, deservidly so too.... but without maldini the defence looks very-very shaky..... and widout vieri (he is not wot he used to be), we dont really have a reliable striker who can tuck away chances all day long!!! luca toni did fine though..... but he isnt vieri-calibre..... and as usual, del piero was a pile of shite......hop he gets his act 2gether n delivers all da promised off him, finally!!! czech-italy would b a good game....... rosicky...... wot a cracking lil player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with the anount of long range shooting chances italian defence handed to micheal esien, if rosicky got these........ he'l bury italy..... worrying times a head for azzuri!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets c how french n brazilians get off...... am still waiting for a big upset!!!!
