Do any of you use these textbooks?

Hi

I'm a biomedical science graduate and i'm trying to get into medicine next year. I have anatomy and physiology by martini and molecular biology of the cell by alberts. Have any medics used these books, I'm trying to assess whether or not i should sell them.

i find martini is very useful for giving a clear outline of the anatomy and physiology for the first two years (and it is the book of choice for the manchester course - which is used at keele, where i believe you have applied)

Cheers people! think i'll keep them after all. Yep i've applied to Keele, annoying as it's the only place still not to have even sent me an acknowledgement letter.

I've used Molecular Biology of the Cell this week for stuff on cell-cycle regulation and oncogenesis.

Alberts is a fab book if you already have it. I bought it for my science degree and use it for a lot of things in this. Def. keep it.

ALL HAIL MARTINI

I can't sing enough praise for this book it single handedly saved my first year and got my some honours points.

I'm planning on building a small chaple in my room devoted to it.

Alberts is quite possibly my favourite cell biology book, and in the endless "Lodish vs. Alberts" debate, wins every time, as far as I'm concerned.

Don;t worry too much about whether a med school recommends one book rather than another on the same subject. I have alternative versions of just about all the recommended books at Warwick, and I'm managing OK so far.
