    OSSE Books

Can anyone recommemd any good OSSE books/clinical examination books for first years doing basic examination procedures i've looked in the search but nothing came of it. There are loads of books but i was just curious to see what different people had looked at.

I'm rather fond of Macleod's clinical examination - it goes beyond what you'll need as a first year but it's a great text for use in later years.

Alternatively, and perhaps more appropriately for a first year, is to grab a copy (free if you can find your MPS rep) of the "Introduction to Clinical Examination" which is the baby version of Macleod.

    Macleod's Clinical Examination
    Munro and Campbell
    ISBN: 0-433-06172-6

    Introduction to Clinical Examination
    Ford and Munro
    ISBN: 0-433-068358-3

Epstein, clinical examination is what I use and thats excellent. When on the wards I use one I got free from the MPS or MDU or someone, which I think is a mini Macleods and is really all you need for the basics at first year.

I use Epstein too (and a pocket version for the wards) and find it is easy to read and it seems to cover all the relevent aspects of clinical exam.

There are several books for OSCE/ OSCPE/ OSSE exams available but have never read one myself.
