I concur wrt Gawande, i thought Better was brilliant and far more useful during the applications phase than the typical Ridley, disease/science orientated reading most people concentrated on (of anything at all) - because really are you expected to know anything specific in that much depth? Wheras the Gawande books were more about concepts and thoughts which are much better to chat about (imho). And very very good reading. Someone photocopied me and article of his called "The Checklist" that was pretty good too.
