Pass Finals http://www.harcourt-international.co...SBN=0702026530 Has the fear set in yet? I was an absolute wreck until I read Pass Finals, and, as the title suggests, one reading of this will see you through. Although based on Kumar and Clark, the book is fantastic on its own. Whether yOr course is more academic than clinical or your finals are OSCE, essays, long or short cases Pass Finals teaches you, reminds you and tests you on what you need to know. Remember common things present commonly! Superbly laid out with just enough info to get you that well deserved distinction. ECGs, CXR’s and even how to answer questions the best way are all included. This gets an instant 5/5 for Readability, Quality / Content and Usefulness for revision. And all packed into a masterful 12 inches too!

Self assessment in clinical medicine http://www.harcourt-international.co...SBN=0702026662 - Over 900 questions in all main formats. MCQs, EMQs and best of 5. All specialities covered and based on Kumar and Clarke. Just like in the student journals all answers are fully broken down and explained to keep your mind ticking over. The questions are structured in a way that makes you understand the mechanisms of the disease. This is not a book for list learners! I used the 2nd edition for my part 1 finals and am looking forward to this new edition for my part II’s. If you liked K&C this is a pure must. Readability 5/5 Quality Content 4.5/5 Usefulness for revision 5/5 Overall 5/5

Clinical Problems in General Medicine and Surgery http://www.harcourt-international.co...SBN=0443073236 – You’ve done all the hard work over the last 5/6 years. You’ve attended (some of) the tutorials, the lectures and used K&C for more than a doorstop. You’ve even read the two books above to get your grades stratospheric. But what’s missing? - The clinical practice: 66 real life medical and surgical scenarios (I know cos I asked one of the consultants who wrote them) are laid before you….the clock is ticking and each scene is set. The patient arrives, what tests do you want to do…what do the results mean…what will happen if you give them this drug…BANG its all over and you need to call the lawyers in. From the 19 year old with the scrotal swelling to the 67 year old female with the acute lower abdo pain…its all here. This is the A&E of books for students and clinicians alike. If you want to bruise the old grey matter and be put through your paces but be rewarded with invaluable never forget lessons from fully explained answers that will have your examiners begging for encores in your OSCE’s then look no further. 5/5 no less

PS Make sure you have alook at the demo pages for each of these on line and then you can get a feel for it yourself
