which textbook?!

Hi everyone,
haven't posted here for ages but I need some advice and hope someone can help... I'm in my third year and wanting to buy a good book on clinical medicine to help with revision for upcoming exams. I was going to go for Kumar and Clarke but having read some very mixed reviews on Amazon, I'm now reconsidering. Does anyone have any views on this and if it's not as good as everyone makes out, what are the alternatives?
Advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Kumar & Clark is a great reference book, but it is a tad long winded for revision. the oxford handbook of clinical medicine is great for quick reference and revision, but it is like reading the phone book. You might find your answer in the baby kumar and clark (it is called something like essential clinical medicine and has different authors - cant remember who, its downstairs). Its very readable and much more concise.

K&C is the standard medical student, medicine book. Its been sat on my shelf for almost 5 years now and always has its uses.

Mixed reviews are inevitable, no book will satisfy everyone and those who are dissatisfied are more likely to go on the internet and make a point of telling others about it :P Kumar and Clark is a good book on general clinical medicine, nicely laid out too so it's not too boring to read.
