ECG made easy gets quite difficult about half way through, but you really need to know all of it as a house officer. I'd also recommend a book with examples of ECGs that you can look through to reinforce what you've learned (trust me, they really help).

ecg made easy... with plenty of strips

ecg made easy by hampton I think is a good book. however, if you have easy access to ecg strips then I've found that the easiest way to reinforce and revise the learning from the book is to interpret as many strips as possible, as the book seems to contain 'best possible' examples of rhythm abnormalities.

I dont know if the cardiac ward at norwich hospital has the sort of monitoring arrangments as the cardica ward here in winchester, but here each patient is linked to a 12lead, and you can print on demand. the nurses here are only too happy to let one print off strips, so long as patient confidentiality is maintained/they are disposed of/not taken from the ward, etc.

this thread reminds me to get back to ecg strips as for me it's the sort of thing I need to continually keep my hand in on to stay reasonably sure of.

all the best

Making sense of the ECG by Houghton and Gray is good too. Very similar to 'The ECG made easy' (which is what i've got).

Try this site too: http://www.ecglibrary.com/ecghome.html

without a doubt ECG made easy - it is the ultimate simple (relatively) guide tot the ECG for med students and junior docs. buy it, you will read it many times.

I concur with the ECG made easy. As the title implies it DOES make it a lot easier both to read and comprehend.

I woud suggest "rapid interpretation of EKG's" by Dale Dubin. Most canadian med students and residents use this. For Good practice for exams, I would suggest www.medicalstudentexams.com as a start.
