    1st year clinical books

I am starting my 1st year of clinical medicine in September, and I just wanted to ask if anyone could recommend any books worth buying?

i have found kumar and clark, clinical medicine, really useful. a good anatomy book is tortora and gabrowski, anatomy and physiology. it covers every system and has good pictures and diagrams. it also has an atlas of the human skeleton book and a CD which has quite a few multiple choice questions on it.
i have been told that the anatomy colouring book is really good - in terms of learning as you go along. depending on your course, you may need other books in areas such as embryology, neuroanatomy and histology. but you'll probably get a list from the university.

Kumar & Clark's Clinical Medicine is widely regarded as the best clinical book around. I personally think it's excellent too.
