Cool Anyone know rough percentages of candidates who get an interview?

    Particularly for the following Unis:

Peninsula, East Anglia, King's, Brighton and UCL?

I checked the websites but didn't get any information past "candidates are screened through academic/non-academic, and those who are successful then get an interview" blablah doesn't tell me about what my chances are!

So hopefully any students from those unis happen to know?

Edit: I thought maybe I could paste this up here thanks a lot to Alaina and the King's website!:

For A100, approximately 29 per cent of applicants are invited to interview after the initial screening of 3400-4000 UCAS applications.

    So it goes as follows:

    Peninsula: about 1,800 applicants - interview 700 & give about 350 offers

    UCL: about 2,200 applicants - interview 800 & give 550 offers

    East Anglia:
    about 1,800 applicants - interview 500 & give 250 offers

    Brighton: about 2,500 applicants - interview 450 & give 240 offers

    King's: about 3,600 applicants - interview 1000 & give 600 offers

    Thanks guys.

Also would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone (fiona123, f_debelder, etc) for helping me through my application, I was quite lost and I'm now totally focused! Thanks a lot guys, I love this website! (even though most of you make me feel jealous and insecure about my crappy results haha).

So yeah what %-age of candidates get interviews, roughly.

I heard in Cambridge it was 94%...

Brighton interview about 400, which is about 1 in 7 applicants. About 50% get offers (although, like everywhere else, this is greater than the number of places). Don't know about the others, I'm afraid.

Oh, yeah I do: King's gets about 3500 applicants, interviews about 1000 and makes about 600 offers. That's for 5-year. The 4-year GPEP is about 1500 applicants, about 10% interviewed, and 30 offers for 24 places, plus about another 40 offers for the 5- or 6-year courses.

But I really don't know about the others.

Heyyys, i'm not applying to any of those - but i have some fihures from the last few years for those Unis!
    Peninsula: about 1,800 applicants - interview 700 & give about 350 offers
    UCL: about 2,200 applicants - interview 800 & give about 550 offers

East Anglia: about 1,800 applicants - 500 interviewd and 250ish offers

Brighton (the TOUGHEST one, based on applicant to offer ratio):
    about 2,500 applicants - interview just over 450 - 240 offers

    King's - 3,500 applicants - 1,000 interviews - 600ish offers

    Hope that helps! xxxxx

The King's figures are on their website if you dig deep enough. The BSMS ones I got direct from the Admissions Tutor. They're reliable numbers. HTH

Depends on which bucket of applicants you fall into aswell, for example BSMS reject a higher proportion of graduates after interview according to one of their admission tutors.

I have a very good book which gives all the admissions statistics for every med school in the UK (based on last years numbers)

Here are the statistics for your chosen med schools from last year:

    BSMS:

18% of applicants interviewed, 52% of interviewees made offers

    Kings:

    29% " " 64% " "

    Leicester:

    47% " " 40% " "

    Southampton:

3320 applicants and 389 offers made (205 of the applicants were interviewed)

I hope this helps, and if you're thinking, i havent just plucked random figures out of the air, these are genuine statistics!
