I'm not accusing the people on here, I'm accusing the people that would have heard the full terms (rather than acronyms) in interview.

Perhaps. It's just people I consider my peers also have offers, as well as the previously mentioned people that I personally feel (along with my peers and teachers [who are quite happy to express their doubts in my school]) are not suited to Medicine.

I obviously haven't found the 'balance' yet - being too empathetic and you get attacked for not choosing nursing. Being too objective gets you attacked for not choosing a 'real' science degree.

It's looking like Cardiff are going to give some bs excuse for not having good enough academic grades, whilst Leicester, if they reject, will probably say I'm not suited to their course (it's more PBL than I thought I sort of shot myself in the foot by saying I prefer traditional learning, but pulled it back by saying I'd have the same revision techniques with either system)

Hey, don't beat yourself up about your lack of offers (hitherto).

The competition is fairly rampant. It's unfortunate that some people inevitably slip through the net. Maybe you should try for Southampton or Edinburgh next year if you don't get in and feel you haven't perfected the art of being able to bullsh*t convincingly in interview yet.
    Southampton - offer
Peninsula - heard nothing. They can piss off.
    Nottingham - interview 18/3
    St George's - waiting list

Ahh but be glad you didnt go the other way and say you prefer PBL, as they strongly dislike being called PBL but yes the groupwork portions are quite independant although we do a have a tutor per 4 groups in each room and do review the answers at the end etc but yes it is quite PBL. I was pretty shocked at that too, but i have no doubt about you fitting in and adapting to the structure. Not long to now though, *fingers crossed*

I agree with Hughman in that some people you meet on your course have just NOT got what it takes to be a good doctor. Be it no confidence, ober-confidence (borderline arrogance) or the social skills of a hippo carcass.

It annoys me a bit actually to think one day these folk might upset patients just by being an eejit towards them. But then I think...'hmmm, I seem to be able to have banter with people, meh, let them realise they're assholes'...and with that i pop off for a quick liquid lunch before afternoon lectures

In some cases, yes, and that will please me.

Others might not be so lucky and just remain being morons. It's up to them whether they want to treat the nurses like dirt or whatever, and quite a few wont change through med school. A bit scary really.

I would imagine nurses as being lifesavers to junior doctors...

Yeh, they'll probably know more than us and have to bail us out in the first week! My friend is a third year nursing student and she complains about useless junior docs already :-S you definitely need to get them on your side and be really nice to them I reckon

    (Sources: Scrubs, hahaha!)
