Yes i totally agree with that.

I think BBC is only for certain under-achieving schools, and definatly ISNT the norm.

Just as a side note, they are NOT nasty lol.

    Best of luck guys.

    Unhappy

Do you reckon I can prepare for an interview at St. Georges in about 10 days? I know I should have really prepared for it sooner but I have had so many exams.

I have a chemistry and maths exam 4 days before the interview

Hey cheemin, i would say make the most of the time you have!

In terms of that question, thats a tough one. I suppose the simple anwswer is to alocate it on priority? You could say you feel the need for operating theatres etc outweighs the need for shorter waiting times in AandE. I don't know. I would answer that by saying i would 'go about it' by looking at the needs of different departments, and different areas of the country, and allocate funds as neccesary. If i felt it neccesary to ignore certain areas and divert a large amount of funds to one section of the NHS for a short term then maybe thats a step i'd have to take. I would probably say that i would recognise the need for some sacrifices etc.

I think its more important how you answer a question, than your actual answer content. I always tried to give a balanced opinion, and tried to consider all the options available. Think outside the box!

Just be confident in your answer, and be aware of your own limitations.

Good luck to all you going for interviews! Any questions or anything PM me!

The best advice I can offer about the St. George's interview is to be honest. I am telling you there was some questions they asked me that I was a bit reluctant to answer but I was honest about it and they must have liked it cos they gave me an offer. In the St Georges Interview the best policy is to keep talking as much as you can about the question cos in my interview they didnt follow up the question or give prompts are anything. They just moved onto the next question. If your honest your answers will flow out and your less likely to get tongue-tied or give really short answers.

The way I prepared for it was to really practice answering questions aloud to other people. Just going through lists of questions they could ask and answering them aloud. It helped me to speak better which was good and put my views on certain topics into proper speech instead of hesitating and not finding the right words or saying 'and stuff'.

Also be confident and enthusisastic at the interview. Know your personal statement well. THey may use you personal statement to ask more general questions. Like they asked me how I went about solving problems in Young Enterprise which I mentioned in my ps and then how in general in life how I go about solving problems and making decisions. They also asked how I deal with stress. Bad points of being a doctor. Why medecine? and about resaearch. All the general questions.
