Weaknesses

U no when they ask if u hav any weaknesses wat r u supposed 2 say without sounding like a weak medical candidate, like if u say i put 2 much pressure on myself and work they mite think oo she isn't gonna cope with the pressure! it iz well hard! :idea:

There isn't a wrong answer unlike your weakness is something like "I'm a homicidal maniac." Just be honest. Just don't say something like "I work too hard" because the interviewer will see right through you.

Never ever say that you are a perfectionist because

a) Perfection isn't a weakness. A lot of people would like to be perfect (thus making it more of a strength), and surely everyone aims for perfection all the time (ie. producing the perfect piece of homework :roll: :? )... and if you are not aiming to perfect things... then why not?!? You might as well.. hmm, is getting confusing now.

and

b) If you say you are a perfectionist, then you are lying. Oh, which could be taken as a weakness. No one is perfect (discounting supernatural beings, if you believe that).

another good weakness - ok so those words dont really go together lol - is that you could say that sometimes you feel you can be overcritical of yourself. this shows that you obviously strive to be the best...isn't that what they want?

its a tough question because you're being asked about your bad bits when all you want to talk about is your good bits. I got asked this in my shef. interview last year 'give us 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses' So I listed my weaknesses first as 'I'm crap at dealing with death, I'm quite shy and I was stuck for a 3rd one....so after a bit of thought I said 'Milkybars'. It was a gamble but they laughed at me as I went increasingly red and I got away with it.
As said above, be honest and dont talk b***ocks but try to pick weaknesses you can improve on....like I told them I'd been on a counselling course to learn how to counsel people with grief etc and from this I learnt how to deal with it better..........

Just wondering..............

Only you will really know what your weaknesses are. Even if they sound stupid, i would mention them. I cant see how you can use someone elses weakness as your own, just because it sounds nice.
