GP surgery abortion trials
Trials begin to test if abortions could take place in doctor's surgeries in England, the government says.

If this goes ahead perhaps now women won't have to go through the agonising, possible six week, wait for an abortion.

I think it would certainly take a load off the NHS hopitals, however as the article states, there would be issues over emergency care, following up the patient, and abuse of the 'service'.

What do you mean by 'abuse of the service'?

i mean that people will be more careless with unprotected intercourse in the knowledge that abortions are easier to get
also it can be assumed that number of abortions will rise following the granting of GPs to undertake these operations - waiting times will decrease, and abortions will be easier to get than ever before - it is highly likely that people who wouldn't have otherwise had an abortion would do if it was available from their GP
