Just wondering though, does this mean that the selection process goes back to what it used to be i.e. with deaneries giving preference to medical schools within that particular region. For instance a medical student from a London medical school having an advantage for a position in a London hospital rather than a student who attended an out-of-london med school?

I have to admit that I'm not sure I fully understand what's happening at this point. The article on the website seems to be referring to the use of MTAS for ST applicants. Whether they also mean medical students applying to Foundation posts isn't clear. Security issues aside, this year's applications seemed to go pretty well.... (lights blue touch paper and retires to a safe distance in, say, France)
