Elective in Caribbean
I'm looking to do an elective somewhere in the Caribbean between June and August 2013 for 8 weeks, could anyone give any advice or give their opinion on their elective. Any help would be appreciated!

I did mine at the University of the West Indies (UWI) at Mona which is in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. They also have a campus in Barbados. Mine was quite structured and did incur a fee (can't quite remember the price). I did paediatrics and got a lot out of it, could have gotten more but I did mine in third year when I really didn't know enough to get stuck in. They work very hard and the medical students know so much more than I did (and still do!) but I would really recommend it. It's not a touristy or beach based location though so depends what kind of elective you want.
