The doctor I worked with in Greece has for all intents and purposes said I can do my elective with him and earn a salary for my efforts (though Greece has a decent NHS-system, cash is exchanged frequently to speed up referrals, acquire time of doctors that may not do that much public work, and for free-prescriptions from doctors.
As well as treating people in his clinic (he's a respiratory physician, and 50% of Greek physicians are in the community), he also does one half-shift a week for the army/air force, and one half-shift for a local consortium of hotels and diving schools - he checks over tourists before and after SCUBA dives.
I've also heard large hotels will pay a small fortune for multi-lingual doctors to work for them. It's not a big leap of faith to see that they will employ medical students for assistance.LEICESTER FRESHER 2009
There are two types of people: Those that are Greek, and those that wish they were Greek.
