Electives in LONDON

I am a third year student at Khyber Medical college, Pakistan. I want to do my electives in London during Summer 2008. I dont know which hospitals are offering electives for foriegn third year students. I have tried google to find out about hospitals in London offering electives but no help...

Can anyone please guide me?

Hello. It can be difficult for non final year students to get elective places at the major London teaching hospitals.

You will have to contact the medical school itself about electives. They work with the local deanary to allocate elective places to their attached hospitals.

I had a look at the websites for the London medical schools (University College, Imperial College, Kings College, Barts and the London, and St George's) and it seems that UCL is full for this year and Imperial is not taking any elective students.

Only Kings College and Barts have places, but as I said you may have to check as to whether they will allow non final year students. You can apply through their websites. Kings College has the nicer hospitals though

hey guys, i am a final year student in the ziauddin hospital, karachi, pakistan. i was looking forward on doing my electives in King's College, in london but there was no vacancy, i did apply to other colleges in karachi but i really want to do my electives in london as my sister is there and she is expecting. i would love it if any of you guys could help in this matter, i am sorry for this short notice but reply as soon as possible. i really need help. please help me out. my whole family will be visiting my sister and i would like to do my electives and visit my sister at the same time..anyone kind enough to help, u can also contact me on anna_kris@hotmail.com. please do not contact me for any other means as i wont be able to respond.please help!
