Elective in Saudi Arabia

Hi,
Has anyone carried out an elective in Saudi Arabia?
Would appreciate any help with contacts or advice on getting an elective out there.

Hi Wozza..

Unfortunately, electives here in SA are not coordinated properly by universities so your chance in going to a university is very low but there are places where summer courses are offered for med students and they really offer very good programs. Check your PM please!

Surely you just need a hospital out there, if that? We can go to any form of health provider, it's practically unheard of for people to go to a university.

I have tried e-mailing hospitals & also Universities with a faculty of Medicine, but getting contact e-mails for the appropriate people is near on impossible. It seems the best way to get a elective placement in Saudi Arabia is knowing some one out there who has contacts in the health sector, which I do not.
