Elective accommodation in Mauritius?

Hey - I'm doing my elective in Mauritius from June 19th till 22nd July, just trying to figure out what to do for accommodation - anyone been there/got any advice? Don't really fancy paying normal hotel prices for 5 weeks! I'm at the SSRN hospital so thinking of staying in the Grand Baie area...

Dear Kate,

I know it's been a few years since your elective, but I was wondering what advice you could give me about where to stay??!! I'm gonna be at the SSRN from November-December and was thinking of finding an appartment in Pereybere.. what do you recommend?
