Exactly WHEN to take the MCAT?
I just finished second year as an undergraduate molecular biology (B. Sc.) student at an American university, and plan to apply to Canadian medical schools for entrance in 2011. When exactly should I take the MCAT? Summer of 2009 or summer 2010 or in between? i.e. Should I take it after finishing second year or after finishing third year? MCAT site has not addressed this issue.
Thanks

A friend of mine took it in March. She's planning on applying for entry 2011. She planned on possible retakes so that she would be in plenty of time. No later than 365 days prior to your hopefully beginning medical school. So if you wanted to start in September 2011, you would take the test later than September 2010. Give yourself a chance to retake; you can take that test many many times and you want to have a contingency plan for getting a bad score the first time.
