    Where would I be best applying?

    Hi there;
    I am currently on my nursing degree and predicted a first.
    I have A levels in English Lit, Biology, Music, and AS Chemistry (A,C,B,C).
    I have two questions if I may;
    1. I got a C at GCSE maths, but am retaking it next year alongside my degree. Is this necessary and will it help with UKCAT?
    2. Where have I the most opportunity of a place with the above qualifications?
    Many thanks in advance. I am hoping to apply next September for 2012 entry and have a fabulous referee.

    Hi diss

    Are you planning on applying to just UKCAT unis? I find this little list really helpful, having everything in one place - Medschoolsonline - Medical Course Guide for Graduates - Graduate Entry 4-Year Courses

    Maybe you'd do well applying to unis that place a really big emphasis on work experience, since you no doubt have done a fair few placements as a nurse? SGUL, for example, may favour your application compared to KCL, which really focuses on academic requirements (UKCAT cutoff is RIDIC!)

    xx

    Is it worth me doing the Maths? I have heard it helps at UKCAT?

    Depends what level of maths you’re at already...

    If your are competent at all GCSE level maths you should already fine. But it needs to be second nature as speed is the key. So if you have to think for a second over how to calculate a % then I would get some practice in.
    SGUL GEP (T - Year) - That's a 2nd of 4 years, but 3rd of 5...
