Which unis 2013
I'm convinced I'll get there one day but it's always good to have other people's opinions
GCSEs 10A* 1A 1B 1C
A levels - Biology (C), History (D) & Chemistry (E) average for my school was DDD and I was bullied quite bad
this is only part of my application that i think will hold me back
Degree - Biomedical Sciences with HPC registration ie one year placement in the NHS 2:1 (69.82% grrrrr)
UKCAT - hoping 700+ if I can pull abstract up a little from 2012
Going to attempt GAMSAT for Notts
Work experience - total 1months shadowing (Hospital and GP), 4 years as St John advanced 1st aider and 1 year in the nhs as a trainee biomedical scientist with twice weekly INR clinics that I did unsupervised. Hopefully will have a job doing medical writing for the pharmaceutical industry that involves adverse effects reporting/ trouble shooting
So the question which uni for 2013 do you think offer me the best chance
PS some of you may be able to link me to the Facebook group please don't ID who I am as hopefully on Monday (if the bf gets chance to check it this. Weekend) this is the ID I'll be using to post out my review and I don't want my real name associated with it

I would say SGUL and Notts should be definites if you are taking the GAMSAT. For these I would continue to try and get more work experience and start studying now for the GAMSAT.
You could just about apply to Soton (as they accept E at chemistry A Level). You could apply for the 4 or 5 year courses (or both).
Unless your UKCAT score is above 750 I wouldn't bother applying to Kings London.
Peninsula could be a good place but you would need the GAMSAT again. Last year the cutoff score for Peninsula and Notts was lower than for SGUL (to my knowledge).

Ston is very competitive due to the low criteria. so it may not be a good choice for you if you meet the criteria at the more selective Uni's.
Kings cut off used to be about 700, but getting above that doesn't guarantee you a place, but does does increase you chances.
Fibonacci - where did you hear that its now about 750? Or is that more about being near definite an interview? If so I'm not sure its that simple, but things could easily have changed since I went though it.

Bart's would have been a good shot, if you have the B's in Alevel Chem and Biol, along with a good UKCAT.
A few years ago, it seemed like they interviewed most above their UKCAT cut off's and offered places to 85% of those that they interviewed.

I do believe the op can still apply to Barts as they don't look at a levels depending on the degree.

Martigan - I believe King's cutoff hasn't changed from 700, however with the previous other results taken into consideration (i.e. A levels of C,D,E and a 2.1 degree) they are likely to put more focus on an exceptional UKCAT score.
