Actually when I spoke to the Notts people they said your personal statement is the last thing they look at, just to check you're not an axe murderer. They don't look at it until they've decided who they are making offers to. It's good to have a good one of course but for that university at least it's not going to make much difference to your application.

And SGUL apparently don't use the PS either, other than for axe murder checks. However I'm sure I mentioned my axe on mine and they still let me in!
