2012 UCAS mature students help? 1st time applying

hi,

this is my first time applying as a mature student so i've got a few questions- when i applied through school there was a lot more help on offer!

-is the 15th October the first date you can send applications out?
i know its the deadline but is there an earlier date we can send out applications?

-is 15th october the date we send it to ucas, or should we have sent it to ucas and checked it over by that date?

-do we submit our reference ourselves? do they need verification of the referee or anything like that?

-has everyone already registered through ucas and paid the fee? i looked on the website and they seem to be dealing with sorting 2011 applications atm, when do we register?

The 15th October is the last date to apply. I think applications can be accepted from sometime in September, but no later than October 15th- that I am sure of!

I haven't checked out the reference part yet, but from what I remember, you enter the email address of the referee, then UCAS send it to them, and the referee fills it in. UCAS will then send you an email saying the reference has been completed. By this stage, we can't see the reference.

You pay the fee just before you send off your application.

You also need to ensure that your reference has been entered/approved BY 15th of October at the latest, so don't leave it to the last second!
