Hi there
Unfortunately they do matter to some unis. It's really annoying because I didn't do too well at A-level and I wasn't exceptional at GCSE either. Newcastle and Durham don't seem to mind though along with Warwick and Southampton. However, places like Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol want specific grades. I spent a long time looking through them all to find out where I could apply and my choices are limited but it depends what grades you have, I think HYMS want BBC at A-level they've just changed it apparently.

Well, I had no health related WE. I spoke about and related my skills from my previous career and how they related to medicine and also spoke about my 16 mths in a parasitology lab doing research for my MRes. I applied for all 5 year courses so unsure if GEP courses are more stringent about health related WE than 5 years for mature students.

ah ok cool, we currently have one of the consultants getting her son to do 6 weeks with us so i guess my jobs quite good as a thing to talk about with our application. its just so scary because i cant stop adding more stuff to my app so i feel like ive done enough but that may be compremising my degree outcome :S x
