    Full-time work plus evening A-levels?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone had any experience with this? As of September, I will be working full-time in London with the intention of doing a full Chemistry A-level and Biology AS in one year at evening classes, does this sound in any way feasible? Or is the workload likely to be too much..?

Thank you in advance wonderful people of nmm, Adam

    Heya,

I did Chemistry A2 and Human Biology AS in a year and a half with full-time work and two children (well, the second half of the A level was while on maternity leave but that was pretty full on too).

It's definitely quite challenging especially as I assume you need to get good grades but possible if you're very dedicated and organised.

    Cheers

    I know it's not a competition but...

I'm managing to do a Life sciences degree (in 2 yrs) whilst running my own business full time and with 2 under 3yr olds.

So, yes, I reckon it's feasible!

I think the question to ask is do you really....really HAVE to try and do all this in one year? The problem you have is that you need to get very good grades so if you can allow yourself an extra year this will make life easier.

I worked full time and did an A level in Chemistry - that was bad enough and I had no life. Now I have come through the tunnel and finished Medicial school so it is all possible but don't kill yourself on the way!

Unfortunately a lot of unis expect you to demonstrated you can do a lot at once. I had to work quite hard to negotiate Bristol down from two full A levels in a year to two AS levels and I still ended up having to do the A2 for on of them in a further 4 months! On the bright side, I think the first couple of years of medical school may seem positively relaxing in comparison!

Just teach yerself I reckon - much more flexibility with time. Buy the books, and sign up to a centre that allows private candidates to sit A-levels there.
