aweful past performance - but still want to study medicine
all advise welcome. after years of messing around academically and not knowing what i really wanted to do with my career - i want to pursue medicine. however my academic background is very patchy and i'm willing to do the necessary courses to rectify this now.
9 gcse's: 6 B's - dual science, math, eng lit, eng lang, sociology .... 3 C's history, technology, dance
a levels: AS Chem - C; A2 sociology - E; A2 biology - N
BEng Electronic Enginering - Pass
now i am studying BSc Psychology and am on track for a minimum 2:1
i guess my main query is which way now? access course, or resit alevels or anything else i may not be aware off.
pls help

If you are gonna go for 4-year courses, which you could with your degree, there are several courses where A levels don't matter. I have rubbish A levels too and I hold an offer for this year now.
If you apply to places like Newcastle, they will take you without a science degree, but you will need to do well on the UKCAT to get an interview, so I would put quite a bit of effort into practicing and taking that. Others which will also take you without a science degree such as Nottingham require the GAMSAT, which takes a lot of prep for, but again, if you do well you should get an interview.
So in all, you shouldn't need to redo A levels as long as you make sure you get at least a 2:1 on your degree and apply to the right courses. More info is here:

Newcastle GEP - one year down, three to go!
UKCAT - 692.5 average
Degree: 1st in Biomedical Science

You may also want to check that they are prepared to ignore your first degree as some apparently won't. Best idea is to pick 5 or 6 possible candidates and rignt them up to talk about your specific academic situation. Then if they say you've got a way into them, make sure you get it in writing (e-mail should be enough) and then go for it!
