I received a letter on Friday from Newcastle, inviting me to an interview (5-year course) on Tuesday! Unfortunately I can't make it because I'm overseas at the moment, but they were fine about rearranging it. I'm excited and now feeling nervous....

Don't worry guys... it can take a while for unis to get through all the applications.
I don't know about all of them, but some don't get in touch until after Xmas.

I would say relax, but I know that's not possible

i've only had acknowledgements, no interviews to date boo. Also pretty worried - have started looking at pHD options...

well for Imperial and Glasgow other people have and when i applied for medicine the first time it was everyone else getting interviews but i didnt which was then followed by rejection so i dont want to relive that horror!

Dont stress about Glasgow. They intervew up until March, and in no partcular order! You only get a few weeks notice too, so I am certanly not writing them off yet!
Just try and get on with life and be patient!

Try not to worry :-) (easier said than done, I know).
A few of my friends who applied last year (all having finished one degree) didn't hear anything back about interviews until after Christmas, one didn't hear until the end of Feb (guidelines on the unis say that some interview dates are not until march/april). 4 of those friends who didnt hear until after Christmas (including the one who had to wait until Feb) got in.
There are just a lot of applications to get through.

Some Universities send out an email or a letter acknowledging that they have received your application and that it is being processed. Not all of them do it though. I have had acknowledgements from Newcastle and Barts.
