    Hello, everyone,

I'm vey glad i've found this thread, it's a relief to have somewhere to read and post mature medic questions and answers. I'm 23, this is my millioneth time applying, I really have worked so hard this year for my gamsat and I'm pleased to say its paid off, so i'm hopeful.

I hope that everyone on this forum has a very successful application 2010 round!!.

My background is a straight science one, BSc anatomical sciences, MSc tissue engineering, PGCE teaching biology and chemistry and i've always wanted to be a doctor, I just wish I could get an interview and beg the admissions panel to give me a chance!.

    Hi everybody,

Just to keep you updated: I got an interview invitation from UEA. I'm very happy as it is my second!!!

dreamyrover, I also share with you the usefulness of this forum but I must tell you that you'll find that many of its participants are well over your "mature status"...

Welcome and best of luck with your application.

Congrats on your interviews, Pedro, that's great news.

I had my Barts (5-year) interview on Friday and have got Newcastle (5-year) tomorrow so am gearing up for that right now. I'm also thrilled I've got one for the Kings GEP in January. Its exciting to be getting interviews - just hoping at least one of them will lead to an offer!!

Hi and congratulations to you also! It's great to receive offers... it feels as if things are about to happen and that they're moving in the right direction, doesn't it?

If you don't mind me asking, how was it at Barts and when did you receive the invitation? I though that they hadn't started interviewing just yet and that offers would only begin to be sent about this time. I guess I was wrong... and of course it can also mean that I won't be getting an offer...

Best of luck for Newcastle and King's!

    Do keep in touch,
    P

Hi psjorge! You don't have to reply to any offers until after all your decisions are in. After your last decision comes in you usually have around a month to make a decision but the timescales vary a bit as outlined on the botton of this page click here

Thanks! I can hardly believe it, I'm ecstatic!

Pedro - from what I understand, Barts are still inviting people for interview. They only held 2 interview days before Christmas, and have got another 4 slots planned for Jan and Feb, so there is still time yet. All the interviewers were very friendly, I actually enjoyed it and came out smiling!! Hope your UEA interview goes well - when is it?
