Yeah same here, I was shocked to find a grant included (I myself am from a low-income family) but as far as I was concerned I was only intitled to the maintenance loan!! Backed-up by the fact that the student finance calculator only estimated a loan of around £4,000 for maintenance without mentioning further help.
Of course next year will be the NHS bursary and a reduced loan, but who knows, luck might have it that I get a similar grant suprise!
Take the money and ask questions later :P

yeah, they want to give me a tuition fee loan, maintenance grant and maintenance loan. i was unofficially advised by an lea assessor to 'take the money but be prepared to give it back if they ask for it. its their mistake so therefore its their responsibility to find it'. ive been reading on these forums and it has happened in the past, most of the time people phone to check and then have to give the money back, but a few weeks ago auden posted that she/he? was about to finish this year and havent had to give anything back yet - despite telling them.

I applied for my finance a while back and have been allocated a maintenance loan AND a tuitions fee loan. I rang them before i applied and was told that i wasn't eligible for a TF loan (however the same people had no idea what they were talking about, as they also told me i wasn't eligible for maintenance loans, which i clearly am).
I may be different though, as despite this being my second degree, it would be my first TF loan, as i didn't take one for my first degree.
Either way, i'm not giving it back or telling them unless they actively start telling me i should be. In my eyes, why shouldn't i get a TF loan if i've not had one before?Newcastle Fresher 09!

I have no idea what I am getting. When my husband filled his bit in the computer told us he didn't need to send any evidence. Now, 9 weeks later they have emailed to say the computer keeps making mistakes and we had two days to send the evidence. Bah.

I did mine 2 months ago, got my first notification back last week saying (Fees Loan, Maint Loan and Grants) I rang them and told them they were talking from where the sun doesnt shine, they passed it back to my LEA who re-checked it, I now have a Notification with just the Maint Loan (which is correct)
