Oh..but I've noticed they do look at your A levels grades in Bio/Chem IF your degree didn't contain much chem or bio!

Not sure if that helps..but if your degree in which you have a 2.1 is heavily chem/bio based then A levels are not looked at. Which does make sense.

At Leicester? At the open day they told me you can have any degree, relevant work experience and 3 C's at A level, I told the admissions tutor I didn't have biology or chemistry and he said that was fine.

They say your work exp makes up for not having the science qualifications.

Most unis still have minimum GCSE requirements in English Lang, Science and Maths even for graduates. So you would have to check with the uni's academic requirements and then ask if you don't have to disclose your qualifications. To be honest mate, your best disclosing them to be on the safe side. It causes more complications if you don't.

i think it will be best to put both gcse and alevel grades on, simply because some unis will have gcse requirements, and some medical schools require their graduate applicants to have certain alevel grades too.

I don't have very good GCSEs, I took them 20 years ago! I have put everything down, as I am proud that from my background in education I could then carry on to post-grad level study - and aim for medicine.
I really want to study medicine, my past is me - even my D in English Lit

Of course, that means I have to look at any min GCSE requirements - but I meet most with English C, Maths B and Double Science A+B.

I did my GCSE's over 10 years ago and my problem is that I got a DD in science! I did not do well at school because of circumstances at that time and was just glad to get away from the place!

My problem is that I am concerned about putting unis off with science DD, it makes me think they would look at it and think well if this applicant can't even do better at that level how on earth are they going to get through a very science oriented degree!

I do not find science difficult and actually really enjoy it so I don't see that as being a problem, just don't want those results from years ago to hold me back now when I have worked so hard at everything I have done since

I think it seems to be affecting you more than anything else? Have you discussed this in your ps?
I would bring it around to your advantage, and discuss how determined you are after reflection on those days.

Have you now studied any science? Soton, for example, only want a pass at Alevel chem or both AS chem and bio for entry with a 2:1. (that's E or above!)

I didn't discuss it in my ps because I have only discussed things I have achieved and as it was so long ago and does not reveal my true academic abilities, I did not really see the point.

I have no problem with telling unis my GCSE's if they want to know them, just thought it would be easier to discuss the reasons for my results in an interview, rather than writing about them in ps, it was hard enough reducing the size of my ps.

I have also always thought up until now that graduates didn't need to put GCSE results on the form so that is why I was not going to bother putting my results in. I also did an NVQ which is completely irrelevant, so I wasn't going to put that down either, I am not trying to hide stuff I did in the past but just thought I should put down relevant information rather than filling up the form with stuff they dont want/need to see.

I haven't officially studied any science since, only read books in my free time. I got a first in my computing degree but this doesn't show any ability for doing science.
