I don't believe this to be true, usually GCSE's and A levels are important on med school applications but if the unis specifically say they don't need to see them for graduates then why would we be forced to put them down?

It is not as if we are lying by not putting the information down, we only need to put down what promotes our application, bad results will not do that, only if they asked to see the results then we would have to state them.

Omission is as good as lying.

Do what you want, don't put them down, watch them find out and take away your offers. Med schools are big on honesty you know.

Oh and even as a graduate they will very possibly ask for copies of all exam certificates. All exams from the same exam board are on the same bit of paper, how are you going to explain not including half of them on your form when they ask you about it on interview day?

If they asked me about GCSE's and A levels at interview I would be honest and tell them what my qualifications are.

Considering they say they only ask for a degree I would only show this certificate, so I would not be putting down some GCSE /A levels results and leaving others out.

They are hardly going to make me an offer then ask about my GCSE results, then suddenly take my offer away again!

Actually that is exactly what they would do. Why should they give someone a place who isn't even honest on such a basic level when they have thousands of applicants that are? They take away offers for not handing forms in on time, you can bet your arse they would take them away for lying.

If you put down no GCSE or A level results they will consider your application incomplete. At best they will then ask you for your results, at worst they will outright reject you. It doesn't matter if they consider them or not, they want to know that they exist.

Pretty sure it is in the UCAS fine print somewhere anyway that you must include all qualifications.

Leaving out qualifications because I read the unis do not consider it as part of their entry requirements does not make me dishonest.

I would not lie if they asked about any previous qualifications before my degree, I just did not think there was any point in putting them down considering they don't ask for them and I did not do subjects geared towards medicine.

I would assume they would find out all the information they want to know before sending out any offers, therefore no need to take them away again!

Anyway I will be call UCAS before sending my application off to double check the requirements. I am only giving my opinion which is based on what I have read on various university web sites.

Yeah and nowhere have you read to not put them down. It doesn't matter if they were geared towards medicine, neither is a business degree but you wont catch business grads applying to med leaving off their degree! Deliberately concealing information is dishonest. If they don't consider them anyway you lose nothing by putting them down so why risk messing up your application by leaving them out for no reason? It's common sense. Learning from your seniors is a big part of medicine, I suggest you work on that instead of thinking you know best about something you are yet to go through.

You might be better off reading UCAS documents rather than phoning, call centre people are never well trained and the answer you get could vary depending on who picks up the phone. Or, just ring the unis you are applying to, make sure you speak to someone in admissions though rather than whatever random picks up the phone.

The bit about taking offers away was more aimed at those planning to leave off some grades that aren't that good as that might not be noticed until later.

Already spoke to Leicester who want to see 3 C's at A level but did not mention anything about GCSE's, will check with the rest though, thanks for the advice.

That's another thing actually, a lot of courses do ask for specific A level grades from grads now anyway.

Yes I know, this does leave my options a bit more limited. I think the 5 year courses all ask graduates to have biology or chemistry A level but some of the GEP don't.
