I am from Los Angeles, that is why I asked. At least you will have some consistent weather.

Started aged 34 and will (hopefully!) graduate at 38... There's life in the old dog yet

When applying for medical jobs you get an extra point because you have another degree. The american system does not allow secondary school people to go directly into medicine without doing an undergraduate degree and soon the UK system will do the same, I believe. There's even a prestigious medical school in the US that gives extra points for old people applying to medicine. We have also had experience with other things rather than blindly chose medicine because of our parents pressing us into becoming doctors for example. Our decision to go into medicine is consequently more informed. There are many advantages, so cheer up and don't worry about your age

I have to say, having a degree does not necessary mean 'experience'. It does in terms of academia of course, but this has just reminded me that all of my friends who have just graduated, are exactly the same as when they left school.
