Getting hold of child vaccination records

I need to get hold of my child vaccination records for my occupational health form- it says on it that I need to contact my local child health records department, but basically I can't seem to find a contact number/address for it. Do any of you guys have experience of getting hold of these records and know how long it takes/how much it costs etc? thanks

This probably won't be much help but . . . when I was doing the whole Occupational Health vaccinations thing, I wrote down what I could remember definitely having (not much!) and for important stuff I didn't have any memory/record for, they took a blood test and checked for antibodies.....!
Depending on how long ago it was and where you were, isn't it a bit unreasonable to ask you to track down your childhood medical records?!!! I guess they're trying to save themselves time/money.
I've personally never come across a "child health records department" - wouldn't all yr info be with whoever is yr GP at the moment? Or at least, as much information as still exists!

yes, your GP should have your notes, even the ageing paper ones which are from the very early years... I went through them with a practice nurse in an appointment made for the purpose and we tried to find dates for things from them. Other things we just put down a best guess and they tested me for antibodies when I got there!

Yep it's easy. I called my GP surgery and they put me through to a practice nurse- she just asked me a few identity questions (this was over the phone) then gave me a list of every vaccination I had taken since birth and the dates they were administered. Very helpful indeed, but I lost the tissue I wrote it on! (lol)

I got mine sorted through the practice nurse, however she had to contact the school health people, apparently GP's aren't informed of the vaccinations you receive at school (at least in my health authority). Depending on how old you are this could be a problem as my practice nurse was informed that I was lucky because they destroy these records upon children reaching their 25th birthday (I was 3 months away from the deadline).
