Hope you can help me - I recently work-shadowed a consultant in my local hospital for one day, and I want to be able to prove that I did this when I apply for medical school. Should I write and request a letter confirming that I was there (and what I did)? If so, should I write to the consultant or to somebody in the department (the consultant is leaving the hospital this week)?
I'm not sure how to make the most of the opportunity and as I hope to arrange future placements and visits, I wonder what is the protocol for building up a 'portfolio' of work placements?
