    Foundation years

Hi, all, wonder if anybody could poss offer some advice...

I'm 21 and in 2nd year of a non-science degree at an excellent university and am currently on course for a first (this year, at least!). I'm taking A-Level Biology and am getting on pretty well and have a view to attempting to get onto a 6yr course after I graduate. The problem is that I have no other natural science A-Levels and three Cs in sciences at GCSE; I've always been strong with English and arts but with murphy's law being what it is I always wanted to study medicine. I was pushed away from this in (a fairly grades-oriented-whatever-it-takes) school and encouraged to spend more time developing work in arts subjects. Consequently my science grades slipped and now I of course regret not putting in the effort that I could have... I have also had two episodes of depression and realise that this could count against any application I'm able to make. Should also probably mention that other GCSE grades were all but one A/A* and A-Levels resulted in ABBC. Could anyone offer some realistic advice; am I right in suspecting that I'd just be wasting my time with this ambition or is there any sort of chance?

Many thanks and best wishes to all

    Izzy

There is a chance for some of the GEP courses at least. For the 5 years, I think that UEA are more interested in A-level Bio than A-level Chem. Have a look at http://www.medschoolsonline.co.uk for a list of their requirements.

    Hello IZZYC,
You may want to check Durham Uni. on
http://www.dur.ac.uk/foundation.prog...e%20routes.htm. I believe they might have a possible solution.
