Fount this thing

http://www.baoms.org.uk/msg/Medicine...d%20Degree.doc

Meant for dentists becoming docs, but has an interesting section on getting grants for childcare and stuff..

Alternative source

My webhost is being a bit flaky. If you're unable to access the Mature FAQ through the web, an alternative method is to send a message to xmas74@hotpop.com with the words "gimme mature faq" in the subject. You don't need to write anything else in it.

The next time I'm at my computer it'll send you a copy automatically. Have patience -- if you send ten messages before I turn the computer on again you can expect to receive ten copies of the FAQ!

My web host provider has decided that I'm a sponging scumbag, it seems, so the Mature FAQ has toddled off elsewhere.

Few places are happy to host a non-HTML page for free, so I've converted the FAQ to a web page. This has been done in a very ugly way, but it's just a temporary measure - when I go to uni I'll shift the FAQ to their webspace.

(If anyone wants to volunteer to make the FAQ's HTML more bearable, let me know. But I want it to remain a single printable page rather than a collection of hyperlinks).

The new URL is:
http://www.geocities.com/alexism1974/maturefaq.htm

If you find yourself unable to access that URL in future, just check this thread . If you prefer the old Word document (or if something happens to *this* webpage too), then sending an email to xmas74@hotpop.com with "gimme mature FAQ" in the subject will still do the trick.

Cheers,

xmas

If anyone wants to contribute their experience of applying to uni as a mature student in 2004 to the "Personal Experiences" section, let me know.
