    Hi exms,

Done that but not in there. However after much more investigation I did find it in the Personal Statements/ UCAS forms thread.

    Thanks

    Update 04/09/05:

    * Info about private UK medical courses from Will Watson
    * added GMC link about registration via foreign unis
    * EU residents who came to the UK solely for the purpose of education in the three years before the start of their course may now be eligible to be considered Home students – info courtesy of Teacher
    * Included a detailed section for 5 year courses.

I'd appreciate any more info on the list of 5 year courses: I'm sure some of the details need tweaking. I wrote that section this morning, so my brain is now leaking out of my ears. If you notice that the entries get less and less enthusiastic as you go down the list, that's why

UEA have some funny points monitoring system for their course. For A level-ers you have to get 2 points and these depend upon your A levels. For those with a degree you need 3 points - you get 2 for a 2.1 or above, 1 for a 2.2 and then 2 for either an A or B in Biology. No idea how this fits in with the access course, but I think that the access people are guarranteed an interview anyway? I forget the absolute specifics and my notes are all at home in the UK, but I did write it in another thread somewhere in June-ish time!

The faq is getting really long now - woweee!!!!

    (Minor) Update 15/09/05:

    * Prettified FAQ courtesy of Sparky - if you still think it looks ugly, take it up with her. But don't persuade her to do the whole thing in pastels and pink or anything. Please.

    * links section tweaked; added link to medschoolsonline.co.uk

Update 21/09/05: DfES currently says that graduates may NOT have a loan to cover the cost of the 3K/yr tuition fees. Added text to warn applicants for their budgeting.

    Any budding artists?

Admin has been kind enough to post a link to the FAQ on the main page, but it's not the most exciting link - it just says "The Mature FAQ".

Are any particularly artistic people able to come up with a logo? I think an old fogey (like from an old people crossing road sign) with a white coat and a steth could be good, but I'm happy to consider anything. I would try myself, but my artistic skills rate somewhat lower than those of a 3 year old on speed.

Obvious restrictions: Can't be a huge logo, can't be made up of copyrighted images, can't make my mum blush. Apart from that, if you have any contributions, feel free to post your efforts to this thread

[Edit: Oh, and it probably should say "Mature FAQ" on it somewhere so people don't think it's about retirement benefits for old doctors or something]
