    taken the UKCAT today, got 630 average, not sure if thats good enough for manc? I work in a hospital as a HCA, have volunteered on EMI units and have worked in care for a long time. Also doing a weeks shadowing a General med consultant and an afternoon shadowing a GP. Doing the manchester access course this september so taking a huge amount on haha

    hi, well you have alot of work experience which is good, however your ukcat may be just slightly below the scorers manchester accept but saying that your work experience outweighs your ukcat score and would strengthen your application, what were your individual scores for the ukcat sections if you don't mind me asking?

    VR = 600
    QR = 670
    AR = 590
    DA = 660
    Pretty clear which one let me down there, however before really practising and working hard on AR i was scoring (literally!!) 400 - 500 sooo .... swings and roundabouts could have been a lot worse haha

    You still did well , calig you should be proud of yourself , the only thing remains to be seen is what the cut-off is for manchester applicants 2013 entry . Then we find out wether we're good enough! how long did you revise for ? &which materials did you use?

    thanks i hope it was good enough about 2 weeks on and off though, due to actually being off work with a seriously damaged back (luckily i felt well enough on the day) I used the free practice tests on the UKCAT site, the free mock test on KAPLAN, emedica stuff, and I bought 600Q off ebay for a fiver, although truth be told I didnt find the book too useful, it just gave me a headache!

    Absolutely awful. Overall I scored 2520, in the mocks I was scoring between 2000 - 2200. Id stick to the UKCAT prep and the kaplan prep because I THINK they make the maths stuff slightly harder, because when I got into the test I was shocked how different it was
