Thumbs down Intercalating 3rd or 4th - is there any point?

    Wondering is all...

    is the intercalating worth it?

I want a surgical post, I know a lot of docs say its about getting good foundation rotations but I seriously think it would help but have no basis for this :/ so stuck..

You get good foundation rotations by getting good scores on your application form. Part of this is supplemented by points from intercalation if indeed you have done. Also gives you the opportunity to get things published and to win prizes which are all useful in getting points for foundation jobs and, from what I gather, core/specialty training posts.
