I asked some of the medical students while I was in Manchester about this. They said that PBL is not as bad as a minority are making it sound like. The people that do badly in PBL are the people that don't work, as you need to be very self-motivated and disciplined to keep on top of work. And they also said some of them fail to realise there are complimentary lectures you can go to for consolidation, so it's not entirely PBL. If you work hard and can carry yourself without having your hand held all the time, there's no reason why you can't succeed.
Coco's Medicine 2010 entry choices:
Manchester [Offer: AAB]
Leicester [Interviewed 19/01]
Nottingham [Rejection]
Keele [Rejection]
Biomedical Sciences - The 5th Choice:
Sussex [Offer:ABB/AAC - Insurance]

Hi guys....I'm a gapper and I have an 'conditional' offer from Manchester (satisfactory health and CRB checks) and an unconditional from Glasgow (just the health and CRB equivalent checks) so essentially I have my choice of either course for September.
Manchester or Glasgow....???????
(In spite of my name, I live in England so am responsible for fees for both so there is no financial argument (other than Glasgow's fees being marginally less).)
Thoughts please!
