The UKCAT score hurts you to be honest (especially since Manchester is UKCAY heavy, or so I hear).

However I guess all we can do, is wait and see. If everything else is really strong (your academics do seem strong, not sure about your PS though) it should make up for the poor UKCAT score. I mean, I doubt they'd disqualify a person based on poor UKCAT scores alone especially if they're strong everywhere else.

I guess all that you can do now is wait and see. (It all depends on this years intake and the admission tutors)

(Just so you know, King's College London invited someone for an interview with a 513 UKCAT score last year. I'm guessing this particular candidate made up for it with the other parts of his application.)

I was told that they give interviews on ranked UKCAT score but I may be getting confused!

If she said that, it should be fine. She's the admissions tutor after all (unless she wasn't).

UKCAT is the only thing that might be a little iffy to be honest, however as has been said before, you wont be rejected solely on that. They take the whole application into consideration. A poor performance in UKCAT, personal statement or interview simply means the rest of your application has to be good. If you get an interview, then it will give you a chance to strengthen your position.

Dont worry about it... there's nothing you can do apart from prep for interview.
Good luck, hopefully see you at an interview ^_^

You're confused!

They are going to rank people by UKCAT, but only those that have already been shortlisted for interview using the rest of their application. The top approx 750 applicants from the shortlist will be called for interview.

So it's quite possible that applicants with brilliant UKCAT scores might not even make it to the UKCAT ranking stage if their PS etc aren't good enough.

Theatrical,
im not sure what you mean. So they read all the applications and decide who to invite for an interview based on the whole application (so people with top ps, ref, grades and ukcat). And then after the interview theyll choose the best people at the interview and with best ukcat score? Have i understood correct? In which case i might be called for an interview but i'll porbably get rejected after because my ukcat will still bring the whole application down, ye?

Send a message via MSN to JDavy
They choose say 1200 people that are there favourites on PS, grades and ref. Then out of those 1200 the 750 people with the highest UKCAT will be called for interview.

I don't know how you managed to get that from my post?!

JDavy's got it right. They select approx 1200 people based on their PS and reference. Those 1200 people are then ranked by UKCAT and the top 750 or so are invited for interview.
