its not made it arder at all, quite the opposite.
its made it easier for a real genuine applicant, who would be able to easily show she/he is a good candidate for a longer duration than a false candidate. he/she would be able to ark on forever, but the false intervieweee would dry up quick and lose out.
in effect, fewer false candidates would get a place, and this makes it easier to get in if you're genuine, and probably arder if you arent.
so if you're genuine, you should be smiling, guys.
and try applying for a decent job like some of your collegaues if you fink medicine is especially 'ard to get into.

Well then, I'm out. Damn!
"This year we will be selecting for interview by ranking by UKCAT score all those applicants who have successfully passed through our initial UCAS assessments."
Didn't know about that little alteration! Good job I checked this thread out. Cheers Medical Addict.

It means they've joined the dark side and become heavy UKCAT users. Well, actually I think it means they're fed up of dealing with the thousands of applicants who are all of a similar standard, so they use the UKCAT as an excuse to filter out applicants without genuinely looking at their application. I especially liked it when they said "We look at our applicants as individuals not numbers!" - yeah okay then.

With regards to the new interview style, they will be interviewing less people but giving the same number of offers out, so yes it may be harder to get an interview (due to less interviews and the fact that they now use UKCAT) but if you do get an interview you are more likely to get an offer........ (All this information was given out at the last open day)

Yeah, the new interview process was mentioned at the Open Day. The use of the UKCAT was not - this is news to me that they are now, as Kinkerz put it, part of the 'Dark Side'. Lol, I can picture the admissions now: "The UKCAT is strong with him..."
Does anyone know if Manchester, or any medical school for that matter, will hold it against me if I don't include indiviudal module grades?
