Hehe. "Do well in the UKCAT you must!"

Well I'm putting "pending" for four of my modules - resitting three of them, and the other one's getting remarked.

Why do u have to place unit grades when applying to med schools? I thought u only do that when u have one of ur AS GRADES as "Pending"??

Am i right in thinking this or not guys??

I don't really understand what you mean...

If you're resitting a module, then you can put it as pending on your UCAS form.

You don't have to declare unit grades on UCAS even if your results are cashed in.

That said, I got 605 in UKCAT would that give me a fair chance for an interview?

Well I'm not sure many people are aware of this new selection process. I only found out by fluke - looking on this thread!
So you may well be in with a shout! But it is borderline.

Hmmm...I guess I'll stick to initial choices then. I probably should since they're the ones I've researched thoroughly and Manchester is currenlty an unknow quantity to me. (The only thing I know about Manchester is that it's PBL based and it's a Russel Group Uni)

whats there to know?

i mean isnt it really based on 3 decision?

1- course structure
2- city life/financial
3- distance maybe others but these are my basis for uni choices

barring entry requirements because that is an essential the others are choices based on being able to get in.

Do you have to put anything, because it isn't a required field on the UCAS form.

To be honest guys i think it is a really good thing.... i know from my experiences last year and from my friends experiences..... the interview process last year didn't seem to really ask anything about you as a person..... i mean it was a 13 min (they say between 10 and 15) interview which included the personal, academic, extra curricular and a dicussion. It seemed, tbh, quite rushed and i know a lot of people felt 'i didn't have time to sell myself'. The interviews will be nerve racking whatever you do..... read the newspapers, have a GENERAL look at the BBC health pages and NHS news and be confident.

I definitely prefer the new interview process, is a hell of a lot fairer. Different interviewers..different situations. A nice well rounded way to see if you're up to it.

Had no idea that they used UKCAT as a ranking system though.
