Still not heard anything
Hi,
Getting a bit worried now - I've still not heard anything from Manchester about whether I've got an interview or not but loads of people seem to have had interviews already. Should I be worried? Is anyone else in this position? Thanks.

I know its stressful, but I wouldn't worry guys. They interview LOADS of people per interview day so that's why it may seem like 'everyone' has had an interview. But put it into perspective - they get approx 3000 applicants, 1000 of which they interview. Even though they interview so many applicants a day, they cant possibly get through of of that in November and the first 2 weeks of December (the interview period before christmas).
They interview until March (and I can vouch for that - 3 of my friends had interviews in early Febuary last year and 2 got offers) so all you can really do is sit tight - which I know is really unhelpful but I was in the exact same position as you last year - by December all I'd heard from was Cambridge and seeing as they interview practically everyone before December, it wasn't exactly surprising. The best advice that I can give you now is to just concentrate on getting your grades/doing well in exams (if you're a current A Level student) because if you muck up your exams now, because you're so stressed out/worried about your UCAS then if you DO get an interview/offer, you would have just wasted your chance. If you're in a gap year/mature student/grad, just try not to let it affect you.
Good luck.الله أكبر

don't worry guys they DO interview till March/ April. I have heard this from the admin department at the med school. I know it was 2 years ago but I had my interview in April and got an offer 7 hours later! So hang in there, have a good Christmas/ holiday, try not to get too stressed about it all and save up all the stress ad anxiety for when your actually in med school!!
