Calling current manchester medics who are residential tutors!!

Hey guys,
I have an offer for medicine at manchester starting this sept, yay!
Just wondered if there were any current manchester medics who started as graduates (like i will) that are tutors in halls of residence? I phoned the accommodation office today and someone told me they werent sure if you couldn't apply for this if you're a graduate on an undergraduate course, although im sure i've heard of medics that are tutors. Just wondered if anyone could confirm this for me?? Having already spent three years here I dont want to leave, and don't mind going back in halls!
Thanks!!

Is a residential tutor like a warden? I am starting as a grad and wondered about this sort of thing too.

Hi guys

Congrats on your offers. I think it all depends on the warden. I doubt they'll be too strict about it. In my hall, I know of one mature student (doing an undergrad degree) who is working as a hall tutor. Best of luck

Hi guys
A friend of mine, who is also a graduate student is a residential tutor this year. So unless they've changed the rules, it is possible! AND you get free accomodation!!!!

How do you go about actually being one though? I emailed someone a few days ago and haven't heard anything back, should I ring someone, if so who?

Ok so my friend says that they advertise the residential tutor posts in May and all existing tutors that want to continue in the job have to apply as well as any other "new" students! Apparently this is the first time existing tutors have to reapply for thier jobs?
Anyway, look out for the adverts about the posts on the uni website............oh and you don't find out until August, all seems a bit disorganised to me!
(although that's only my opinion, and not the view of manchester uni etc etc.......)
Lisa ;-)
