nice did you choose it as a backup? what do you think of it as a medical school do you think you would get the same provisions and resources as any other medical student?

Nope its not a back up, its in with a fighting chance, if i actually get any interviews this year that is! And yes i think you would, i think theres lots to be said for new/developing medical courses. HYMS is relatively new and i was really impressed by them too. With Lancaster theres the back up of liverpool which sort of 'keeps an eye' on the programme. I like the idea of being part of a relatively smaller group, and think i might learn better that way. Also theres lots of different placements at Lancaster, I particularly like the idea of the mental health placement as thats something i'm interested in and volunteering in at the moment. I'm also impressed by the social side and know at Lancaster your looked after, my brother studied music there and loved it. What are your reasons for choosing it?

I must confess I decided on lancaster as a backup but after I looked into it further I liked the fact that it was such a small year group and I like the lifestyle lancaster students lead. So im very happy I applied to it and I think it is in with a fighting chance aswell although I must say that southampton apeals to me more

I have applied to Lancaster. Will probably be my top choice - as long as interviews come through etc. Have also applied to Birmingham, Sheffield and Exeter. It was the small group that appealed to me too. Only submitted application in last week and am already panicking!!

hey everybody. I'm a first year at lancaster and absolutly love it. The years are only 50 people compaired to the 300 odd some unis have, so you get to know each other really well.

Potentialhibbert the provisions are what you make of it. If you think you need cadavers and such then there isnt anything like that here, but there are plenty of models and interactive thing. Also you get to go to post mortems a few times which is cool, got my first one in a couple of weeks. At the end of the day its a Liverpool degree you come out with and you have the same resources as liverpool, only newer. Its also quite hard to compare lancaster to other unis, as there arnt actually any graduates yet, but in the end of year exams, the current year 5 (the first year on the lancaster course) actually beat the liverpool counter parts.

If anyone needs any info or such on the uni feel free to ask.
