Appealing?

Just got back from my interview. It didn't go too well. They were extremely friendly though, they scorched me on pbl, but they didnt seem to ask an ethical question!!! Now I'm worried they just wanted to reject me any way so they thought they'd get it over and done with! I've come across a few students who missed their offer last year and have reapplied and had their interview. I was just thinking whether if I do get rejected, I can say that I had an offer last year so the uni must think I'm suitable. The 2nd time i just got nervous.

I'm just going to wait till March, but I just want to plan for the worse.

they don't always ask an ethical question, it depends on what they want to get out of you at the time. you may have demonstrated enough awareness of ethical type stuff in your answers to their previous questons. and if they pushed you on the pbl questions they were probably just seeing how far they could get you to go. don't always think the worst - if you applied before i assume you have a decent enough working knowledge of pbl etc so you probably did fine.

i don;t think they would take the fact you had an offer previously into consideration following a rejection, but its always worth a try i suppose.

I think you need to take some time to gain perspective on how it went, youve got all sorts of emotins going thru you at the moment. If the worst things happens, youve got a right to feedback, then Id act on it from there rather than going "but you thought i was good enough last year so whats changed"

Fingers crossed, go and have a pint or something

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm still waiting to get an interview from my other unis but I really want to get into Liverpool because I'm from the city anyway and love it. It's so anoyying the wait. I'm just hoping the admissions tutor looks at my whole application history.

i know someone who missed his offer at liverpool and reapplied. in his second interview, one of the interviewers on the panel recognised him as he was the one to interview him the first time. they told him theres no point on doing the whole interview process as he passed it first time round. so they just asked him about what else he planned to do other than resits.

wow. the interviewer had a good memory - they interview hundreds of people each year (although there seems to be quite a big team of interviewers). lucky guy...
