    my thoughts .....

hi all, just wanted to share my thoughts with you guyz...hope its ok..ok then, my difficulty is dealing with selfish people, backstabbing people, people only talk to you for while inorder to get some vital help from you in return etc etc. you will find them any where...in the uni, office, shop, bus, train, hospital, airplane, on the road...any where...i get used most of the time and i am fed up with it. i was not brought up in this way by my parents, and living with this type of a society around you, makes me feel ill. The good old family values are very difficult to experience and good natured people, good friends are very very rare to find. i know they are out there but very difficult to find. respecting others, understanding others, helping others etc etc...may be like a needle in a haystack....i like helping others, try to treat them the best way i could...most elderly people do treat in a very nice manner..but this so called new generation has no guiding light...its either pleasure or materialistic gain.....sometimes i think i could survive in this modern society with few good natured values are left, by being selfish....but i guess thats not the solution....

Hey! Not sure whether something specific's happened to make you start this thread, but I can see where you're coming from. There ARE some lovely people around, but they take a little bit of hunting out. In my experience though it's worth the search, as it's the people with values and respect for others who make our true good friends.

Don't change. Continue to treat others as you would expect to be treated, but don't let users abuse your good nature. xxx

I think it's absolutely bizzare that you decided to pour all these notions into the Liverpool Medical School board.

Suffice it to say, I grew up in a similar household. I've gotten quite used to "selfish" people but rather the correct term is "gold diggers" or "opportunists" and this must be said, in modern society people are more impressed by your actions rather than your ideals or thoughts. It can seem quite daunting at times yet that's how the world works nowadays.

i don't think anyone's upset. it jus seems a really random thing to jus say. in answer to the other part, i hav no idea how you move things. i think the only response to people like that is to continue to be yourself and treat them well, don't stoop to their level.

Hey. I don't think it's that appropriate to post your 'thoughts' on a Liverpool Medical School forum - Something like a blog would be a much more appropriate medium

Even so...you don’t see me starting new threads on the Leicester forum about a row i had the other night with my mum - which is pretty much at the the same level as the OP.

Its no worse than people coming on here askeing the same questions over and over again. at least the OP is posing an original question on the forum as opposed to "which are the best halls" or "is PBL hard"
