Hi,
I went to the open day on 17 March and was really pleased when I received an offer for this course. (pre-medical studies 2007)
However, I am having trouble finding four medical schools that accept it. So far I have only found three, two of which are obvious, Lancaster and Liverpool and UEA has added it to their list of alternative qualifications. When I spoke to admissions at Keele they said they didn't accept Lancaster pre-med and they told me the person from this course who was offered a place at Keele had the correct A-level requirements. I have also contacted Manchester and HYMS and they both don't accept it. I am starting to worry that I may only be limited to three choices on UCAS.
Does anybody know of any other universities that accept this course?
Thanks in advance - any advice would be appreciated.

Hey guys, was just wondering, do you transfer to the 2nd year of med at liverpool or 1st? and also the pre med course, when you put it down on UCAS is it classed as 'medicine' or a medicine related course since you can only put 4 unis down 4 medicine. Thanks!!
Im a resit applicant, got an offer last year from liv but flunked my exams with ABC! prety annoyed tho!

i don't know much about the pre-med course styler but you wouldn't get transferred into second year at liverpool, you would probably have to apply like everyone else for the 5 year course!
both lancaster and liverpool take med students for the A100 course, so be aware that if you get an offer from liverpool that you could end up at lancaster (is a similar set up to keele students when they used to get an accredited degree from manchester)FY1 - medicine, surgery, O&G

Applying for medicine
The pre-medical studies course at Lancaster doesn't have guaranteed progression. The application process works essentially like an access course, you have to apply to normal 5 year courses at unis that will accept pre-medical studies. You would have to start applying right after you begin the pre-med course. If you get accpeted somewhere, you then start year one medicine just like all the people who did a-levels.
Applying for Pre-med at Lancaster
The course at Lancaster would not use up one of your 4 medicine choices (I think course code was B900 or something and deadline was later than medicine), so you could apply for medicine at the same time and keep the Lancaster course as a back-up. When I applied, I was applying for 6 six year courses on UCAS and access courses separately.
This sounds about as clear as mud, but hope it helps.

Hi!
I applied to the Lancaster pre-medical course. Has anyone else applied there? Have you heard anything yet? I haven't and I'm bit worried about that. Is it really that they will interview all the applicants?
